Menstruation Facts, Statistics, and You

Menstrual hygiene is fundamental to the dignity and wellbeing of women and girls and an important part of the basic hygiene, sanitation and reproductive health services to which every woman and girl has a right to. Globally, approximately 52% of the female population (26% of the total population) is of reproductive age.
Most of these women and girls will menstruate each month for between two to seven days. Women and girls in rural school settings suffer most from stigma and lack of education and knowledge to help them cope with the physical and psychological pains they undergo during their menstrual periods. Some of the problems they face are inadequate preparation for young girls on menstrual hygiene, lack of or inadequate education on cleanliness and lack of materials for managing menstrual hygiene, no private space and wash rooms and inappropriate facilities for disposal of used pads. Despite these issues, menstrual sanitary products have been routinely ignored by professionals in the health and education sectors.

The World Health Organization reports that 80% of women will have genealogical issues and 62.3% are related to the use of inferior sanitary napkins used during and after their menstruation.
Blood being rich in nutrients feeds bacteria, and inferior sanitary pads are the perfect breeding ground for them. A women’s immunity is often at its weakest during her menstruation period, leaving her exposed to falling sick or disease.
Never Leave Your Feminine Protection to Chance
The average woman may have as many as 400 periods in their lifetime and is estimated to use up to 15,000 sanitary napkins and/or tampons during that period. She is 15,000 times more at risk to being poisoned by inferior feminine products.
